The hostel has a great location near a beautiful lake and is within walking distance of the central area and a mall with plenty of shopping and food options. The rooms are modern and well-equipped, and I loved the privacy curtains and individual bunks with plenty of space. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they even provided lockable cubbies for valuables. The atmosphere is lively, with a bar and pool table, making it a great place to socialize and meet other travelers. The breakfast options are diverse, catering to both international and local tastes, including vegetarian choices. The hostel also offers two Wi-Fi options, one with a VPN for accessing Facebook and Google, and another without a VPN for faster connection speeds.

Felt like it was our own home, no complaints at all.

The rooms were very clean and modern, surprisingly nice for a youth hostel. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful. The restaurant/bar serves delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner - some of the best food on our trip.

It would be nice if the rooms had heating but as Kunming doesn't get that cold in winter we weren't too bothered, the electric blanket did a good job.

I liked the fact that the facilities in general and the cleanliness of the hostel was in good order; The location was great; the dormitory bed and room itself was comfortable; the staff could speak English well; a hot water urn was always available as well as hot water for showering; lockers were provided free of charge in the dorm.

The internet connection was faulty for days; the latch on the lockers to which the padlock was attached was flimsy and not robust as they ought to be,thus compromising security; I thought the breakfast was not very good and the price was a little high.

Awesome room setup with individual bunks, curtains for privacy, and comfortable bedding. Lockable cubbies for valuables. Great breakfast options for vegetarians and vegans. Helpful English-speaking staff and international atmosphere.

The bar had a nice vibe, packed with various people, good beer selection, and reasonable food. The double room was clean and well-priced. Good location close to the University and CuiHu Park.

Weak wifi in bedroom, the staff were a little rude and not very helpful.

Good food in the bar, quite good selection of dishes. Porridge for breakfast tastes surprisingly good! The bar is nice, generally the place is good for backpackers. facilities and location are just fine. staff is helpful, everyone speaks English

We went in winter and it got super cold so water heating system broke down - there was no hot water during some of the days and when there was, sometimes only in the evenings! Was very annoying. Very cold in the room. Although they have beds with heating - they are too extreme - you feel like burning in hell in the middle of the night.

loved the chill atmosphere and common area at the hostel. Great base to explore the city and meet new people. Staff were helpful and even spoke Vietnamese fluently. Definitely recommend Upland International Youth for a comfy and fun stay in Kunming.

Great staff, they all spoke English fluently and were extremely helpful. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Great location very close to Green Lake park and 15 minutes walking distance from the bar district.

Clean accommodation, washing machine available. Spacious double room with private bathroom. Convenient bus connection nearby. Quiet location, good breakfast with a coupon provided. Friendly English-speaking staff.

Not so friendly(one reception girl quite rude ,when i ask her wifi code,she answer me very fast in Chinese instead write down number for me,and even does not look at me when I talk to her) .very thin wall that means noisy at night time in any moment,no lift until 2 floor if u carry heavy bags u gonna get lots troubles.
